New student, need help
on: November 29, 2010, 08:26:33 AM
I have no piano experience at all but for the past 3 years i've always wanted to learn more than anything. I've finally decided to start. My college offers a piano course or I could take private lessons at a place near by my home, all advice is welcome, thanks. I really want to learn to play more than anything, listening to the piano makes me happier than almost anything, also I'm a 23yr old male

Hi !
Welcome at the forum !
I'm glad you're interested in piano learning. If you have no musical experience, you should definitely get a teacher.
Have you bought an instrument ? If the answer is yes, is it an acoustic or digital ?

Good. What pieces do you like ? What would you like to play ? Do you have some favourite composers ? The piano repertoire is very large.
I hope you'll have fun. Learning music is great and fun.

Awesome!!! Go for it!! Let us know if you do!! I hope you have an instrument?? If not, look around for one. If electric, make sure it has weighted keys and a full keyboard. Maybe find a local independent piano teacher? Sometimes their lesson fees are cheaper than college teachers......

Welcome to the forum,
I also want to learn to play. The best thing is that you found a way to express yourself and went for it. No matter how you learn, by teacher or self, just learning is the thrill.
Best of luck to you, Jimbo
