Does Rachmaninoff Touch Your Heart?
Today, with smartwatches and everyday electronics, it is increasingly common to measure training results, heart rate, calorie consumption, and overall health. But monitoring heart rate of pianists and audience can reveal interesting insights on several other aspects within the musical field. Read more >>

"Outsourcing"
on: December 07, 2010, 02:03:01 PM
If companies in the United States continue to "outsource" jobs for cheap foreign labor what's going to happen to our economy?  Our country?

I can't see how this can continue to increase without terrible consequences.  Isn't it obvious that people in any country have to have jobs?

Your thoughts?

Don

We have similar problems in UK. Our imbecile Labour government allowed millions of immigrants into our Country to fill job vacancies that the British did not want to do. The reason they did not want to do it was because the government was prepared to pay them more for sitting on their arse doing nothing, than they would earn by working.

Hopefully, under our new Coalition government, this hopefully will not be the case in the future.

No, indeed it won't; the jobs won't be there in the first place. More cuts mean less employment. Higher taxes mean that at least some working taxpayers and certain corporations will relocate to more advantageous tax régimes, thereby causing even more economic problems for an already beleaguered Britain.

The previous British Labour government may have been imbecile in many ways and far worse than merely that in other ways, but it is not true that all legal immigrants into Britain during its 13 years in office came to Britain to "fill job vacancies that the British did not want to do", although it is true that some of those job vacancies were filled from time to time by illegal immigrants, against whom no government can do anything more than merely legislate.

Well folks, you get what you pay for. People want everything super cheap and they get it. The problem is that the item won't last.

The same goes for labor. In Southern California I can go out and hire ten guys who are standing around in front of a Home Depot looking for day labor for cash because they have no papers. When the day is over my little two man crew (legit) will have out produced, with better quality than the ten guys without papers!

Here in Spain British ex-pats are crying the blues because their new flats are falling apart after one year. Guess who was on the crew? Our wonderful economic refugees who are just in Spain to make a living!

But people are waking up. A Dutch friend of mine is heading to Columbia for a construction job. And did you notice that the not one person who rescued those miners was from Chile. The drill operator was from the USA and the winch operator and system was from Austria!

Indeed, some came to ponce off the state, some to be pimps, prossies, pickpockets, muggers, loafers, murderers, rapists etc.

Thankfully, many came to work including my neighbour who is an incredibly hard working plumber.
