Help me, cant focus...
on: December 08, 2010, 05:28:44 PM
OK Whenever I ''try'' to practice my piano peices i end off improvising and composing other piano peices and in the end i lose the will and focus to practice my piano pieces and end up getting scolded by my teacher ... I am not bad in composing piano pieces and i seem to enjoy it more than learning new pieces, should i ask my teacher to help me compose pieces or just stick with the same thing?

In my opinion composing your own is the goal most of us shoot for. If it pleases you to do so, why not? As for helping you focus, just knowing that learning other pieces helps motor skills and learning note and chord progressions. Keeping that in mind might help.
