Palmgren's Piano Concerto No.1
on: December 15, 2010, 05:07:49 AM
Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for Selim Palmgren's Piano Concerto No.1, Op.13? Currently I just need the piano solo part, but it would be great if you could get sheet music for a two-piano arrangement.
Currently working on:
*Prelude, Op.23 N.4 (Rachmaninoff)
*Prelude & Fugue in F major, WTC II (Bach)
...not fully decided on what else to start (most likely will be a Liszt, Schubert, or Medtner)...

The CPS does have a copy of this, but I think it is still in manuscript and it is only the solo version. All of the other concerti are available in 2 piano, but I don't think this one is.

It was available from Fazer, so hopefully it still is.

Superb music.

The holding at the FMIC indicates the full score is published by Fennica Gehrman.

Unfortunately I looked at the catalogues of these websites and they both only offered sheet music for the Piano Concerto No.5.  :(

Anywhere else that you know?

The score has the Fazer logo, so I would be inclined to send them an e mail.

Not everything that is available is listed in catalogues. Most publishers offer an "out of print" service albeit at incredibly inflated prices.

I had trouble searching through their website (I can't read Finnish and the Bing translator wasn't working well). Do you know what their e-mail is?

Perhaps it would be best to contact the Finnish Music Info Centre and ask them about current availability. They are extremely helpful chaps.
