Purchasing a piano in the UK from an overseas dealer
on: December 19, 2010, 04:12:19 PM
Does anyone in the UK have experience of purchasing a new piano remotely from an authorised dealer in Europe and having it delivered to the UK? What are the pros and cons? (whilst I have played the make and model in the UK I have not played the actual piano I would be purchasing, though appreciate the inherent risk with this aspect i.e. all pianos differ). I have been assured that the piano comes with a full maufacturer's warranty.

Don't do it! There are already enough problems with buying something from a local dealer, not mention having something shipped it.

Advice appreciated. However, the European price is c.40% cheaper than the UK price at present, AND the dealer states that a UK company will deliver and deal with after-sales on their behalf. Thoughts?
