Music Box
on: December 21, 2010, 09:57:10 AM
Hey!
It's been awhile since I last posted here and I hope you guys are doing just fine.
My dad gave me one of those music boxes you can write any music you want, it works like a pianola (punching holes for the notes on a paper sheet).
I transcribed this little piece, that I've always imagined that sounded like a music box.
It's the first piece from Ma Mère l'Oye, the 4 hands piano suite, composed by Maurice Ravel.
Hope you like it!

Bella

Bella, that's so great!  I *love* music boxes.  Sometime in my life I simply must have one again ... a very, very special one.  There is just something that I actually really love about the sound, well, there are similarities to the sound of the piano ... haha.  Anyway, super great!

Hi Bella,

What a novelty!  It was great hearing Ravel's music on the music box.  Nice job setting it up.  Thanks for posting it!  :)

Thank you all of you! It's always good to know people like the same things you like, and I definitely love this music box version of the Pavane. Soon I'll be transcribing Satie's Gymnopédie no. 1 and I think it will come out lovely as well. Actually, what doesn't sounds lovely played in a music box? =)
