Need advice starting my 6 y.o. kindergartner

He's a beginner reader so I'll need to be guiding him.

He was supposed to start piano lessons this spring, but we just don't have the funds to swing it this year.  I took 10 years of lessons, played over the years, but only just bought a house that our piano fits in. I'm proficient enough that I could get him going.

I really want to get him going with the Bastien Method since its the method I learned (up to level 4) before switching to a combo of Thompson/Fletcher and a variety of classical & pop in my highschool years. My goal was never to be a musician, but to have a well rounded repertoire.

Anyhow I have Bastien level 2-4 already in our library, but I'm not sure what book to get him started on.  Should I go with Primer A & B, the one book Primer or Level 1? I started at level 1, but I was 9 years old at the time.

I am open to other methods, but Bastien is my comfort zone and I like the format.

For a 6 year old - definitely get him the Primer A & B...

I've taught over 70 kids in Primary school using these Bastian books, and I usually only recommend the Primer books for 9-year olds, or kids who seem to show unusually excellent dexterity in their fingers.
