Pathetique Sonata 2nd Movement tempo
on: January 08, 2011, 09:43:09 PM
Hi. Sorry I realize I've been posting a lot on here, but I have a lot of questions, Lol.
Umm.. so I've heard many different versions of this movement, and I personally believe it should be at a pretty slow place with a flowing feeling, hence the Adagio. But I've heard many versions which are faster. So am I wrong?
Currently:
Chopin Grand Valse Brilliante
Mozart Piano Sonata K 332
Scriabin Preludes Op 11 no.5,6,7
Bach Prelude and Fugue in G minor

Personally, I believe it is up to the interpreter... if you feel you are playing it at a pace that doesn't make it sound hurried or too draining in tempo... then it should be fine.

I played this a while back, as a revisit and chose this tempo.
