Rachmaninoff Biography
on: August 01, 2004, 07:21:32 AM
Can anybody recommend a good biography of Rachmaninoff, or perhaps memoirs or something similar? I've a gift certificate to amazon.com and I'm just itching to spend it.
Many thanks in advance.

How much is the gift certificate? You could buy "Piano Mastery" which is a very insightful book.

50 dollars. I could certainly spend more if it was worth it, though. What is "piano mastery"? And who's it by?

It's interviews on piano playing with many famous pianists. Of those, there are: Paderewski, Bulow, Busoni, Godowsky, Grainger, Hofmann, MacDowell, Ornstein, Brailowsky, Cortot, Dohnanyi, Gieseking, de Pachmann, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninoff, at least those are the more famous ones. There are others in there too.
