need help naming the tune please :)
on: January 12, 2011, 02:27:55 AM
Hi all
Sorry I'm new to this forum so not sure if I'm posting on the right section.
I've got this song that I used to play in an ABRSM grade 5 piano exam back in 1999/2000/2001 (can't remember which year cos I haven't got my certificates with me) stuck in my head. I've tried looking on the ABRSM website for past syllabus but couldn't find anything, maybe because it's from too long ago! I know for sure is that this piece is not from No. 1/2/3 on any of the lists as I had to buy the music separately.
It's a slow piece and starts with this beautiful melody based on Cmaj7 chords in bar 1. I typed whatever I can play on sibelius and made a printscreen. It's the start of sections A and B. (But notice - all the notes are not necessarily right as I only wrote it out of vague memory) I think it's in standard ternary form.
I used to play this a lot when I was young but I went studying abroad and couldn't take all my music with me. This tune's been stuck with me for quite a while and I'd really love to be able to play it again. It would be nice if the name of piece and composer can be found. Thanks a lot for helping
Much love
Emily
