Hello everyone,

The link below will take you to an online video of a Maria Joao Pires documentary called "Discovering Sound".  Check it out - it's an interesting film.  I watched it a few years ago and I always wanted to find out who the composed the piece played by the student around 27:00.  It's so haunting and beautiful and it breaks my heart every time I listen to it....partly because I can't figure out who composed it!!

 :'(

Can you help me?

Ravel, piano concerto in G, second movement (of course an orchestra is meant to join in later). Yes, it's a very beautiful piece of music, and thanks for the link to a very interesting documentary!
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.

Thank you so much, Richard!!  You have no idea how much your help means to me!  The identity of that particular piece has been a 3+ year mystery for me.  :D  I'm glad you enjoyed the documentary...
