Adjusting Tone - Casio PX-800
on: January 15, 2011, 07:53:31 PM
Hi,

I notice that when I play  B and D together there is an odd (I'm guessing) harmonic that is very, for lack of a better word, electronic sounding and not at all pleasant.

The notes themselves sound fine when played individually but combine the B and the D and there is a 'dawoing' kind of overtone. It's not pronounced but it's there nonetheless.

I've read the manual, several times, and have been on Casio's site (no help at all) and was wondering if anyone knew of any adjustments that can be made to modify the tone of these keys?

Thanks

Does this happen up and down the keys or just at a certain pitch? If it happens only at a certain pitch it may be the speakers. My headphones have a vibration when play the Am chord in the second pitch but not the keyboard or other amps. I have a Yamaha PSR.

Interesting and thanks for your reply. It is just at a certain pitch. I never considered the speakers. I guess I should try headphones to see if I can replicate the problem. If not, your analysis being correct, I wonder if I can bypass the speakers? This gives me hope.
Thanks!

You are very welcome. If you need to bypass the speakers. Behringer or Roland give the best true sound replication. I use two Behringer KT108's, one for each side. Keyboard amps are made different than guitar amps to deliver the full range of sound frequencies. Glad to help....
