40 young pianists from 19 different countries:
Bang & Olufsen PianoRAMA-Competition 2011 has received 148 applications from young pianists of 38 different nationalities.

There have been 39 applicants to Age-Category A (11-15 years) and 109 applicants to Age-Category B (16-21 years).

Every applicant had to upload a high quality audio recording together with the online application.

These recordings were anonymized and forwarded to the prejury, Anne Øland (Denmark) and Erik Tawaststjerna (Finland). The candidate´s name and nationality as well as any other biographical information were at all times unknown to the jury during the preliminary judging.

On the basis of the recordings the prejury selected the 40 pianists to participate in Bang & Olufsen PianoRAMA-Competition 2011. Biographies and portraits are now published and available for viewing on the homepage: https://pianorama.net.dynamicweb.dk/en-GB/About-the-Competition/Participants.aspx

The competition takes place for the first time on March 19-26 in Aarhus, Denmark.

Bang & Olufsen supports the competition by awarding the main prizes worth a total of 40.000 €.

All rounds of Bang & Olufsen PianoRAMA-Competition are recorded on video.
During and after the competition the videos will be available for viewing on the homepage.
