I don't know if it's the camera, but you really need more dynamics, and make those triplets sound special. Now you kind of just play them, like they weren't. These etudes aren't really that interesting, if you compare them to the rest of his works, so you really have to make a lot out of them.

It is the camera ;-) lol. I agree about the triplets though.

hi:  i thought your arm motions seemed very economical and well controlled.  I cant say alot about the music as I dont much care for the piece it self. Only thing I think is the cross over single notes with the left hand could have had just a hair more punch to them, kind of like a punctuation mark.  Of course what do I know. my artistic interpertation is all over the place these days.  One day I think one thing and the next another.

Anyway I thought you did nice for one of the pieces that is hard to make sound musical.  OH how is the Beethoven Sonata coming. you know the one you posted. Oh and I saw your comment over on you tube . It was on one of Valantina Lisitsa pieces . You know the one where the guy was talking about Zimmerans pride.  Great comment by you.  You Rock.

Cheers, Becky

Thanks :D. I didn't realise my online presence was so pervasive :-) haha .

I dropped the Beethoven sonata after playing it in a recital on 25th Jan (which is on youtube also and a much better performance than the one I posted here, I think). I am playing the Liszt and Rachmaninov etudes today in an exam, then they're being dropped too to begin learning: Bach C Minor Partita, Rachmaninov Moment Musicau No.1, Schubert Sonata D784, Mozart Concerto No.23 and Berio Six Encores :)
