Hi folks! I'm new to these forums, 30years old advanced amateur(or something akin to that), been playing classical piano for 16 years, my favorite composers are Scriabin and Chopin. Here's my take on this mindblowing Scriabin prelude, requires a lot of concentration to keep going at speed, and the 15/8ths rythm is more or less grotesque, well at least if you play it slowly it is..I have played and loved this piece(amongst others, of course) for 6 years now, it's a prelude I never tire get tired of. Would appreciate any comments and suggestions for improvement.
Instrument : Yamaha Clavinova CLP-280 Digital Piano
Recording : Home version, 21.2.2011
Soundcard  : M-audio Fast Track Pro, software : Pro Tools-M
Normalisation and slight reverb was added using Audacity.

This is a fantastic recording. I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this piece. I'm really surprised no one has commented yet. If you get the chance, please try to make a recording on an acoustic piano, I would love to hear it. The dynamics on the digital are rather colorless. I think your interpretation would sound great on a proper acoustic. Really great work.

Thanks! These kinda technically and musically demanding pieces are the only ones that can keep my attention and interest fresh for longer periods..I remember hearing Peter Laul(he does a good op.11) recording of this prelude and I thought, hmm that's really good but I'd do it differently..Was in love with this piece after first hearing it and that was that then, no return..You have to play it everyday to keep it up like this though, and still that recording was a fluke because I normally botch the left hand jumps at some point at least..for this piece I prefer Zarafiants over Laul and Pletnev.. Basically any fast Scriabin would require 200+K grand and professional recording studio to sound good, with some crap 3000bucks yammy youd only get smudged crap..Of course a line out recording of clp280 will never be as good as it live, on account of the iAFC for instance..but I much prefer a high-end DP to an entry level acoustic with bad mics :) But hey nice if someone likes the interpretation! I specialize in three pieces right now : this one, Chopin prel. no.22 and etude1Cmajor..will probably upload the prelude at some point, and the etude..mwell..If I get it back in shape then maybe :)
