Scriabin's Piano Sonata No.7
on: February 24, 2011, 04:20:14 AM
I know I definitely won't be able to pull this one off
, but can I have an opinion on perhaps how hard is it compared to other works by other composers, and maybe the main difficulties of it? (I know several already.)
It's a great work, and overall, I just want to know more about it perhaps?

Currently working on:
*Prelude, Op.23 N.4 (Rachmaninoff)
*Prelude & Fugue in F major, WTC II (Bach)
...not fully decided on what else to start (most likely will be a Liszt, Schubert, or Medtner)...
Scriabin: Sonata Op. 64

it is one of scriabin's most difficult piano sonatas. not only technical but also musical. it takes a long time to understand scriabin's musical language. his "easiest" sonata is probably the 2nd. so if you can't play it very well, forget about the 7th.
