An evening
on: February 24, 2011, 10:55:19 PM
Hi people,

I was studying math earlier this evening, for a test tomorrow.
I needed some music badly, so here's the result: an improvisation.

Cheers,

Sam

Hi Sam,

That's a very nice improvisation you have there.  I think its style had a slight Mendelssonian flavor to it.  Very clever indeed.

Good luck on your math test!
Interpreting music means exploring the promise of the potential of possibilities.

What the?  Sam, thanks for posting this!  I would *love* to be able to improvise like this, with my own flavor, of course :).  I want to understand harmony like that.

Thanks guys :).
I thought the contrast in dynamics was a bit too high (the harsh forte).
But for the rest I'm pretty happy with it.

It actually reminds me of a gospel Robert Franz. The dynamics are full of character, I think. And my, a compositional sense. It all makes perfect sense.

And then the ornaments at the end, an eloquent surprise!

Very nice. I actually liked the dynamics a lot.
All truths, not merely ideas, but truthful faces, truthful pictures or songs, are highly beautiful.

Very nice! It could be almost any national anthem, there is a sense of dignity in those melodic progressions of harmonic structures, singing chords..
