Full-screen feature in embedded YouTube videos
on: February 26, 2011, 02:26:00 PM
Is it possible to add one tiny feature to the embedded YouTube videos? The ability to watch it full-screen???

That's the one thing that's annoyed me so far - the only thing that sucks... Especially when someone records it in HD and you can only watch it in a teeny-weeny wee window.

I'm sure I can't be the only one who's noticed that.

Well, you could always download the YouTube video and watch it in your own player in full screen.

I don't like how Youtube restricts embedding on some videos.  You can click on the video, bring it up in a new window, and then usually there's the normal Youtube page set up with a button to engarge it.  It's a pain to have to do that though.

I know, but if you start watching the video, and for some reason you want to watch it full screen, when you open it in a new window - it has to download the data again. For a 15 minute video - that can be quite annoying.

Hey,
I have very limited knowledge in this, however, I do think you can embed videos with the ablility to make them full screen. It just depends what html code you put in. Facebook doesnt use it, probably because of an agreement with youtube, but I have some videos on my piano blog (www.easyonears.com) that allow you to make it full screen.

If you let me know more specifically what you want to do with it I might be able to help you out. If you are talking about posting them in this forum your best to send the managers a message.
