theme recital!!
on: March 08, 2011, 04:03:13 AM
I am a relatively new piano teacher, and I teach at a group home, so my students have a wide variety of backgrounds. I would love to do a theme recital this year that would inspire some of the awesome creative energy out there. Just wondering, for any of you have done theme recitals in the past, if you have any creative ideas that worked well?

Hmmmm...what about: carnival, animals, nature, dance, musical periods or linking music to a painting/piece of art? I am sure you can find lots of different ideas that could work very well in combination with music to create a common theme for your recital and at the same time could be enjoyed by students on different levels.
