on: March 12, 2011, 06:35:35 PM
As in guys/gals that used DAW's i.e. Fruity Loops, Reason, Logic, etc.... I know a lot of them lurk here trying to pick up tips as far as playing piano learning basic chords, etc....

I try, certainly no where near professional. I've played piano most of my life, self taught and play by ear. I'm here to learn how to play piano as an instrument, learn to site read, play classical songs, and in general, not waste any talent I might have.

Nice what's your set up like if you don't mind me asking....kudos on being able to play piano that would make my life a lot easier although we have a piano player in our camp who's been playing all her life and can bang out any melody but still

Right now I'm just running on my PC, using Rason 4 (I wish logic worked better on my PC... sigh... I love you logic!), and my keyboard is a GW-7 Roland, which has great capabilities for live play and as  a midi controller :).

That's all I gots.

What's your camp if you don't mind me asking? :)

Well, I'm a producer working on classical music recordings, so not exactly what you're asking about but similar. I use Cool Edit Pro 2 (the one which later became Adobe Audition). It's the most flexible general-purpose audio editing and processing package I've ever seen, but I think its rather scientific-type user interface probably puts quite a few audio people off and it appeals most to nerds and old-school audio types (I fall into both those categories).
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.
