Hello
I'm aspiring to learn piano and am looking to buy a good digital one for under £500. I would like to find a piano, within my budget, that is as close to an acoustic one as possible as I hope to one day be able to play an acoustic without encountering too many problems with the weight of the keys. Because I don't yet know how to play, I'm finding it really difficult to be discerning with my choice of purchase. I know that the most important thing I'm looking for is good quality weighted keys (as similar to an acoustic piano as possible) and a helpful general design for someone who doesn't want to find any future transition from digital to acoustic too much of an obstacle. Good true-to-acoustic-piano sound would also be desirable if possible. I'm not yet confident about exactly which piano to choose, however I believe that either the Casio PX-130 or CDP-100 might be the one to go for as they both seem to have good ratings. I think it's likely to be the PX-130.
I would be very grateful if anyone here might be kind enough to advise me on which of these two pianos would make the better choice and also how they compare to other digital pianos around the range of my budget. Is there anything I should know about either of these models that could influence my decision?

Thank you very much!

Hi Rubyg,
Welcome to the forum. I read your post and even tho I'm not a big fan of Casio I looked at your choices and the PX130 seems to be the better of the two.

Good luck to you, Jimbo

Hi Rubyg,
I prefer Yamaha myself. The CP5 to be exact but it's sort of pricey. I'm using a P95 that I borrowed from a neighbor right now and I really like it. It's amazing for the price. To me the keys and action feel better than a Casio. In side by side demos the Yamaha sounds a little bit more acoustic than electric. But that's me...
