Performance gigs?
on: March 14, 2011, 08:43:19 PM
Hello, I am a new member to Piano Street. I am a classically trained pianist and would like to explore more areas of the classical piano world. Have any well known piano pieces? Also, I would like to play for weddings or other special events (a cocktail hour would be my dream). Do you know of any websites that i can join for opportunities like these?

I don't know about websites, but I suggest getting business cards made and leaving them at bridal shops and music stores. If you don't have one, you should get a church job playing for services. Not only is it excellent experience and a source of income, it also can lead to just these sorts of gigs through word of mouth.
