Improv C major
on: March 17, 2011, 01:30:45 PM
Since you were so nice to me about my last one, I decided to do yet another one!

I practised Liszt/Paganini etude no 6, and got sick of me playing wrong notes. So instead of fixing them, I startet randomly improvise instead :P

This really reminds me of the ocean etude. If this is easier to play, please right a score for it :p I wanna impress my parents when I go back this summer or winter :D

(Ocean etude is my 2-3rd favorite etude, after op.10 no.4 and maybe no.25 no.5, so in other words, this piece could be considered as one of my top favorites :D)

A little rambling, but impressive nonetheless.  I couldn't figure out the configuration of the notes.  You did change at one point the melody from the right to the left hand without changing the wave of notes.  What's interesting is while listening to it, I expected a certain harmonic change thinking "Yes! do this!", but you would just go back to c or g major and disappoint me...  ;D
But this is something all pianists should be able to do.  We're much too tied to the written note in our lives, I guess.

Haha, well.. I also felt sometimes that it didn't sound like I wanted to. But I can't really change it when it's an improv :P

do you really think of going into c major than change to g major or w/e? I totally have no idea what key I'm in even while playing a piece with a score lol...

Well, it's not so much I don't know as I don't bother to know. I always thought that having a key signature and ESPECIALLY a meter was useless. You don't know how frustrated I get when I try to transcribe some anime music to piano, and then the meter stops me from doing something -.-;
