My composition, help me with the chords and scale.

Hallo everyone,

I a melody, a pretty nice melody, but i cant find some chord that sound good. Because i dont now on which scale my melody is based. Can anyone tell me? And sujest me some chords that i probably could use?

My melody concists of the following notes:

C#  D  F  F#  G#  A  B  C  C#


So what scale is this and what chords could i probably try? Any help is most welcome!

Since the f is the same note as a e# it's can be some sort of c-sharp major..
and it could be some e major with low 7... or a-major. Why don't you post a recording of it?

It almost seems like an F minor harmonic scale to me, except with out the F natural. Try, maybe, a dominant 7th chord, so that would be the E (I think, if you start from the tonic A). Also try, in this key, an F major chord. It sounds very interesting. I also like the B major chord 6. It's a very nice sound!

 You can start with fifth pitch for D minor and then is D minor where is D.

can be modulation for A minor.There is also cromatic scale before. F ,F

.After that you can return when there is B ( that is fourth pitch) to D minor .
Add some rithm.

F# and G# can be modulation in A minor.There is also cromatic scale: F , F# ( fourth pitch for A minor) and G # is fifth pitch for A minor.IT is god.And where is B it can be fourth pitch for D minor,C # is again fifth pitch for D minor like it is at the beginig.
