Symphonies
on: August 10, 2004, 11:41:24 PM
'ello. What are your favorite symphonies?
I just listened to Rachmaninoff's 1st symphony for the first time in my life, and it's almost become my favorite just from one listen. It's incredible, absolutely amazing, quit-your-job-to-listen-to-this amazing.
My favorite for a long time has been Brahms' 4th Symphony, the first movement. The 3rd movement of his third symphony is also stunning.

I like Brahms' 4th and 2nd (I haven't heard any others), Dvorak's 9th, Schumann's 3rd, and Beethoven's 5th. Just off the top of my head.
