Additional Piano Repertoire
on: March 28, 2011, 01:51:57 PM
Hi there I'm 13 and I was wondering if you could suggest me some pieces that are at the intermediate level.

My repertoire list is kinda short but decent:
* Morning Prayer- Streabbog
*Minuet in G- Bach
*Prelude no. 1 in C from ''Well Tempered Clavier''-Bach
*Doll's Dream- Oesten
*For Elise- Beethoven
*Moonlight Sonata- Beethoven
*La Paloma- Yradier
*Solfegietto- C.P.E. Bach
*Canon in D- Pachelbel.

I cant find any Mozart, Chopin, Liszt and Debussy for me usually what I find is way to advanced for me. Any ideas? Please suggest

Please suggest some by Mozart, Chopin and Liszt

Chopin... a few of the preludes are easier, Can't remember which ones, though.

I think one was either B or Bflat minor. Another was probably something in E or E flat.

Try a set of variations such as the Mozart "Ah, Vous Dirai-je Maman" variations in C.  This would be good technique for you, plus it is a very beautiful piece of music.  I get it out every few years just because it makes me happy.  :D

Liszt - Consolation in Db; may be a little intense but you should check it out.

Chopin - Waltz in B minor, Prelude in B minor, Prelude in E minor, Prelude in Bb minor (joking)

Mozart - Rondo 'alla turca' from his Piano Sonata in A major; also might be intense, but you've definitely heard it and it's fun to play.

Debussy - The little Shepherd, or Jimbo's Lullaby (from Children's Corner)

Beethoven - Piano Sonata in G major (op 49?), the easier one; check out some of the Bagatelle's (a few are similar in difficulty to Fur Elise);

Also, I highly suggest this if you are up to it:  the Tchaikovsky 'Seasons'.  I played 'June' from that set for an exam a while ago, and I loved learning it.  Have a listen, it's amazing.

Hopefully you aren't trolling... people do that a lot on this forum lol!  I'm also really tired, and realized this might be the case AFTER writing this reply.
