New Piano Market Statistics: Inside the Quiet Transformation of Piano Playing

For those of us who spend our lives on the bench — whether teaching, practicing for a recital, or simply playing for the love of it – the piano has always been a singular concept: wood, felt, strings, and soul. Next piece.
on: March 28, 2011, 05:39:25 PM
Hello. I've recently finished the second movement of the Pathetique Sonata. Now, I'd like some suggestions for pieces, that roughly has the same level. Anything easier will be more than okay as well.
If possible, some Schubert, Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven would be wonderful.

Cheers!!  :)

Thank you so much! Can you suggest one of them? The easiest perhaps :)

I don't know if it's the "easiest", but schubert's impromptu in E flat

is around the same level as pathetique, and seems sort of popular

I am just finishing that piece! It is so wonderful. Anyway, how about a Chopin Nocturne? No.2 Op.9 is played a lot, but you can look at No. 1 Op.32, it is also very wonderful. Maybe Mozart Sonata in D?

You could finish the Beethoven Sonata if you would like, but Op. 2 No. 1 is sometimes regarded as "easier". It might be too difficult, though.

And I can't suggest any Schubert pieces because I don't listen to a lot of his work!

Good luck with your studies.
