Is there a version of Erlkonig that is for solo piano, so includes the singing melody in the piano part, but is not crazy hard like Liszt's version?

According to the Opus Transcribisticum database, piano transcriptions of Schubert’s song were also made by Stephen Heller, August Horn and Robert Wittmann.

Unfortunately, I had no luck finding public domain scores in the usual places.

I've played Schubert's original and Liszt's, it's not as crazy hard as you might think. Schubert doesn't cut you a break.
In the Liszt version, the leaps were more difficult than the repeated octaves/chords. You could try taking Liszt's arrangement and "trimming" it, which should be acceptable since Liszt made 3 or 4 versions of this transcription anyway. Or make your own! I made a left-hand only transcription in college, and I can't say it's easy, but it's still pretty fun.

Thanks for both of you for your answers I'll see if I can find any of the other versions in a music store, if not, I'll try trimming down liszt's transcription. Not pro enough to make my own yet.

Looks like horn's version keeps the original the most... heller and the first one doesn't seem like it would sound as grand. And left hand only is just O_O

The man must have been an incredible pianist and looking at some of his transcriptions, I do not see how they are possible.

Hopefully one day someone is going to record his Piano Concerto, but it's gonna take someone like Hamelin to do it.
