having fun practicing
on: April 08, 2011, 05:17:11 AM
I've been playing piano for a year or so and reading music still seems to take an emmense amount of concentration. I remember when I first started with guitar it was hard at first but became easier to progress and push myself. What has been your guys experience with this? I love playing pieces I know but learning new things seems like work. Am I prehapse trying pieces that are too hard?

Keep pushing! It's gonna be frustrating and it'll be hard work, but you know that it'll pay off. I remember there was a period in my piano career, a few years, during which I cried at the piano every single day for frustration. Motivation might seem hard, but it definitely does pay off if you don't quit.
