Sad - A minor -> E minor -> C major -> F major ->E major, repeat lol!

Happy - C major chord, but add a D# sliding to the E in the chord.  It gives a carefree, whimsy feel.  Move into F major, do the same with the G# going up to A.  Same thing in G major, A# going to B.

Hope - Power chords!  F-Bb-F with right hand as a solid chord, and Bb octaves with left hand.  Pedal that down, and come up with this epic-sounding melody to go overtop the booming chords.  I improvise random stuff with that (although it's pretty basic stuff), and it's satisfying to hear :P

Relaxing - Pentatonic stuff; it'll sound very flowing without any rash chord changes.  So build some form of melody on C-D-E-G-A (that opens up the C major chord, the A minor chord, and some blends of other closely related chords).

I chose the most basic keys & chords, and I spent about 2 minutes putting this reply together, so it's not really detailed.  Go with your gut, but also (if you haven't already), read up on diminished/dominant 7th/augmented/suspended 4ths/augmented 6th/bII chords... sooooo many chords that a lot of 'composers' just don't use today!  Expand your chord vocabulary, and eventually you'll have your 'go to' chords to evoke a mood.

That's my personal input!  This forum is prone to people trying to shut other people down/up.  If the post made any sense, I'm glad.  If not, sorry!!
