For Mayla: 'Encouragement'
on: April 23, 2011, 04:43:44 PM
Happy birthday m1469! :)

Well, this derived from an improv I did 4 years ago in the context of m1469 having posted an improv ('Brokenness') and me wanting to encourage her :)

It is now just in the process of becoming part of my new program 'In Secret' (all these things need a lot of time, of course  :P )

I think it's one of the pieces that live from an improvisational approach even when they are written down. I had somehow to learn to accept that there are pieces within my work who have actually no time signature. I wrote it down because it was necessary to have at least a sort of reference point for going further, but it's just weird because it doesn't fit in any box, time-signature-wise. It's much more living from phrases and if I think of treating a phrase like a living being I don't really care if there are three or four notes 'too much' , the phrase/motif ends just where it needs to end.

WOLFI!  I love it :).  Thank you very much :).  And, it is indeed encouraging in so many ways!  The music itself is wonderfully so, and I appreciate so much that you would think of me :).  But, even your whole presentation is a great example to me, as well as your words within your post!  Thanks for making my day even better :).

Wow this is SOOO great Wolfi!  8) Lucky m1469!  :P  :)

Oh well I wanted to do something for m1469 too, but you know I'm not that great with the piano yet... so I made a picture (on computer on Paint) and I made some musical flowers for m1469.  :)
But I'm not sure where to post it, but then I thought maybe I would here cause it's a thread for m1469's birthday...  :P but I'm not sure if I should  :-\

But maybe I will post it here anyway...  I hope noone will mind  :-\ ... and I thought that maybe somehow in some way it even goes with Wolfi's piece.  :)

So well: Happy birthday m1469 and here are some musical flowers for you!  :)

Hi littletune, in my book this goes very well together with the music, the flower notes on the left side are even going a bit similar to "my" motif (e-a-b-a)  :)

Thanks, Littletune!  Very, very cool painting!  I love it so much and all of its color!  I enjoy very much the whole thing, but there's something about that bottom half of it that is especially wonderful to me ... perhaps it's the pastel colors ... and it looks Eastery, too!

Thanks for thinking of me :).

Thanks m1469! :) I'm really glad you like it! And it does look Eastery! :) (I wasn't really trying to make it look Eastery, I guess it just happened :) ). Oh and you know at first I made just the upper half of the picture, and then it just didn't seem right and I felt like there's something missing so then I made the bottom half.  :)  8)
