Yamaha YUA series questions
on: April 25, 2011, 12:49:04 AM
I'm preparing to purchase a Yamaha YUA piano. It was built in 1980, never re-built, only 10% wear and apparently it is a rare piano to find in the United States. I was told it is related to the X series from Yamaha (due to the back having a frame that looks like a X so it will give better sound quality and etc.) and that it is closest to the feel of a grand piano you can get. It's a concert upright.
My question is that is it true that the Yamaha YUA is related to the X series pianos they sell and it is manufactured only in Japan? Also what is the typical price range for this piano used in it's current condition? Again it was made in 1980, never re-built and only 10% wear.

Impossible to tell in this format. Have the instrument in question inspected for present mechanical condition and then local market value. Prices for used goods vary widely all across the country.

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.
