[VIDEO] Moonshield (In Flames)
on: April 26, 2011, 04:16:31 PM
Hello everyone,

At the beginning I must explain that I don't have any piano or even digital piano, just this keyboard  :( But I don't have a choice - I must practice on this one until I buy something better.

I'm Polish so I don't speak English very well.
I'm amateur, I learn at home by myself. When I was 6-7 years old my mum who has been studying music and playing in orchestra on violin, used to teach me but I think I was too young to understand and like classical music. I wanted to play something that I know and like. Now it's not hard to find sheets for any music, but 10 years ago access to the Internet wasn't as simple and cheap as it's now and playing some etudes was really boring for me so I stopped learning to play the piano. A few months ago (in december or january) I decided to learn to play the piano again. I listen to metal music and I'm going to play stuff from this genre. Now I think that classical music is really wonderful and there's some pieces I really like but playing metal on piano is what I enjoy more. The most cool thing in this for me is the fact that there's no "official" piano versions of metal pieces because almost no one plays metal on piano so it depends on me how I will play each song. I can arrange it in any way I like.

So here is the video:

I don't think that this is very good performance. Like I said, I'm just an amateur and I haven't played the piano for a long time. Besides school is very important for me and sometimes I don't have a lot of time for practice. Anyway, I hope that listening to my playing won't be fatiguing for you  :)

I think you are doing a good job at arranging metal for piano and I don't get fatigued by the music. But I get fatigued by watching you play, because you are treating your arm and wrist like they were a piece of wood. Loosen up, man, relax! If I played my stuff like you play your stuff I'd be ready for hospital within 2 hours!
You have joints and you have especially a wrist, and the wrist is there to move and the joints and muscles are there to give you flexibility!

Thank you for kind words  :)
I realise that my arms are wooden... I haven't been worried about it so far because playing on keyboard is easy and my wrist do not hurt. But you have a right... If I played on the real piano I would feel pain in my arms for sure... From now on I will try to focus on keeping my wrists flexible. Thank you for good advice.
