Fast Youtube piano improvisation
on: May 09, 2011, 03:38:29 PM
Okay, I've been watching this now, and I bring it here to see the community's reaction to this guy:
Anyways, here he is, apparently improvising by ear, possibly from past songs he's heard and/or played. This is at quite a fast tempo, and a lot of octave spamming and his foot is on the pedal for the most, if not the whole time.
Anyways, the guy who posted this vid (redbluesneakers) probably barely played piano before, considering that this...certainly isn't the fastest.
IMO this was just a "play-around" improvisation, nothing more...he was probably called off to show some of his talent in public, but isn't really a professional pianist, considering he goes on to improve his technique more than improving anything else.
Discuss.

All I can say is three words Carpal Tunnel syndrome
I mean really...look how tight and tense his arms are.
I heard no improvisation in this..not even a distinct melody.

I just LOVE when someone try to play fast, and completely lose all rhythm and balance. And what are we supposed to discuss? I don't really get your topics...
