Bach Prelude--What's going on here?
on: May 12, 2011, 10:08:08 AM
My question is about the 5th measure of Bach's Little Prelude #6 in D minor. Everyone got that page? Good.  See where the middle voice plays middle E for the first 3 1/4 beats of the measure? Fine. Now, do you see where the upper voice is supposed to play the same E on the last sixteenth note of the 3rd beat, while it's still being held by the right thumb?   What exactly is supposed to happen there?

Thanks, --s.

strike it again, and then continue to hold it down with the thumb :)

(At least that's what it sounds like. haven't got the music here but it's a normal situation)
