once again - name that peice - Adolph Henselt
on: May 14, 2011, 04:42:45 AM
A long time ago I found this Henselt recording on the internet.
https://www.henselt.org/chant33.mp3
Disregard the filename, it's not Op.33

No-one probably heard of Henselt anyway, and even if, this one is very rare because i'm a big henselt fan and know most of his compositions..

It's worth a shot.
If anyone ever knows in the next 10 years, please let me know noamkrief{at}gmail.com

thanks

Well, I can tell you that it is in A minor, but no more. I am looking at some sheetmusic to identify it, though. Try posting your request for this on pianophilia.org which is a better place for this sort of request. People here are not very knowledgeable compared to the folks there about this sort of thing. I love Henselt also, but haven't ever heard this work.

The piece is Thalberg's Nocturne Op.21 No.3.

It's gorgeous.

There is a recording of it at the Burgmueller site, incorrectly labeled Op.23 No.2:

The score is at IMSLP.

Great fun to play!
