Piano duets (or duets for piano and violin)
on: May 29, 2011, 12:22:51 PM
What are some good piano duets, or duets for piano and violin?

I want simple-ish ones, not virtuosic :P
I last did Debussy's Petite Suite (which I absolutely LOVE)

So, any nice pieces? :) thankyou!

Dear Vander,
if you want a simple yet astonishing piano and violin duet, why not Mozart's Sonata K. 304? Another idea, piano four hands, is Satie's Trois Morceaux.
Best regards,
Jay.

Faure's Dolly Suite would be a good place to start, perhaps. The first, 'Berceuse' is fairly simple but sounds good, and then the last one 'Le Pas Espagnol' is a bit more challenging, more lively - it's my favourite out of the whole suite :D

The Dolly suite is nice, though a bit longish perhaps.

Thankyou everyone for these! I'm working my way through each of them, finding recordings and sheet music :)
They're perfect for what I was looking for  :D
