microphone stand

Hi all fellow players.  I have a question please.  I am just above a beginner on my keyboard (Yamaha ypg-235).  I like to sing while playing but am unsure what the ideal position should be for my mike.  I know it's probably whatever feels comfy but am still confused.  I'm looking at pictures of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals  and she seems to have the mike pretty much level with the front of the keyboard as you look down (vertically).  I'm not a very good player and was just hoping for some guidance.  Thanks.
