Mozart Andante Cantabile 2nd movement Sonata in C, K, 330

Played on a Toyo Apollo A360.  This is one piece for my Grade 6 next month.  Any comments would be appreciated, except for obvious mistakes!!

Dear "realpiano,"

Sounds very nice, I would just suggest a few things:

1) Make sure you are using a fingering that can give you legato.  If it cannot, use short pedal changes to connect.  The trick is not to smudge harmonies or create harmonies.

2) Are you using soft pedal in the minor section?  I don't think it is necessary.

3) I would avoid such short staccato (in fact, I would avoid staccato entirely, except in the accompaniment to the melody in the minor section), since the character is "cantabile."

4) Make sure that your pickup notes are in the same tempo as the rest of the piece.  There are a few inconsistencies of pulse throughout the piece, so you might be well-advised to play the metronome once, and without ornamentation, to see where you are rushing or slowing down.

Thanks for your comments.  No I wasn't using the soft pedel in the minor section, I think that is down to the piano, the Apollo has a very soft tone.  I''ll take on board your suggestion of fingering and legato.  I didn't think of the possibility of using the pedal.

Listening again the staccato might be too much and a singing style is the aim.

Playing with a metronome I'll try, but that is one thing I do not like doing!!

I agree with above. You need to do something about the tempo. There were many places where I didn't understand what tempo you were using, and that's not very good.

Also, I don't mind staccato, but I do mind when it's staccato with a abrupt end and a rather bad tone. Use slight of half pedal on every short tone... Actually, on every tone that is finishing a phrase as well.. That way, the staccato wont sound so very short, and it will get a muchet nicer tone.
