I really think Andre Watts's interpretation of this piece is awesome, but I'm trying to find a few other interpretations to listen to.

I keep reading that Evgeny Kissin's interpretation is awesome, has he recorded this piece? I can't seem to find a CD of his with Sonata in B minor on it.

Any other interpretations you guys like of Liszt's Sonata in B minor?

Even though this person is an amateur, he does a good job with the sonata in B minor:

But seriously: There's a guy named Ozan Marsh on YouTube who plays it, but unfortunately only half of it is uploaded. It is something else...

Zimerman

EVERYTHING Zimerman plays he turns to gold I swear. (In this case the piece is already gold and he just, shines the gold up even more :P)

The 1930's Vladimir Horowitz recording is electrifying and breathtaking. The Claudio Arrau recording from 1970 is masterful. There's the 1953 recording by Annie Fischer that’s so musical and emotional.  Check out the Sviatoslav Richter and Alexis Weissenberg recordings also. There are others that come to mind, but these are first on my list.

I've heard a few professional, big-name pianists perform it live too, but honestly the best live performance I've heard is David Fung's. Very sensitive, artistic reading throughout. Not sure about the recording since I haven't heard it.

I found Pogerelich's live performance quite outstanding:

P.S. There is another rather important Piano Sonata in B minor ;)

Chopin's 3rd was what I had in mind: a very complex work to interpret, and few indeed meet the challenge I think.

Do you mean Chopin's Allegro de concert or Kogosowski's hash job?

EDIT: Ooops. My bad!

Why am I getting sonatas and concerti confused so much of late?  :-[

Dinu Lipatti if you don't mind older recordings; he makes it light, beautiful and effortless.
If you want stormy, edgy, but with golden tone look to Argerich, one of her better recordings in my mind with a divine slow movement.
Cortot recorded it also and his is almost improvisational at times, but incredibly fresh (even after nearly eighty years!)
Setlist:

Beethoven Op 14/2
CPE Bach Sonata H. 106
Brahms Op. 117

Andre Laplante as someone said earlier.
Also Jorge Bolet is really good.

The two best the I have heard are Artur Rubinstein and Arthur Friedheim.
They don't "get lost" during the slow parts and they don't sprint when it gets loud.
Sometimes I can only groan and suffer and pour out my despair at the piano.

John Ogdon's in Moscow - 1976. How's about this for a technically demanding programme?
