Dazed
on: June 22, 2011, 09:25:35 AM

I just bought a piano.

My friends and family are split. Some have congratulated me. Others are trying to arrange an intervention.

Congratulations! What piano did you go for?

Thank you!

It's a W.Hoffman/Bechstein upright.  It suits my budget and the space available. And I totally adore it.   (And I've had it up to HERE with nudniks telling me I should have gotten an XYZ instead, so let's just not go there?   Not that anyone on PianoStreet would ever do that, of course).

Although I have varying opinions of pianos, I really never saw a piano I didn't like so....A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you and enjoy your piano. I hope it gets played regularly.

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
