'Bernthal Berlin' upright
on: June 26, 2011, 05:39:41 AM
Hi All

I'm new to the forum and have done a search for information on the 'Bernthal Berlin' upright piano, but alas I can't find any information.

If someone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful; as in who manufactured it, was it actually made in Germany, which era etc!

Thanks in advance.

Lorie

Nothing listed for Bernthal Berlin. Listings for Berthold & Braun (Miltenberg), then Berthold, Johanna,Helmstädt.

Are you located in Canada? There was also the Berlin Piano Co. in Berlin, Ontario.

The town changed its name to Kitchener, Ontario during the first war.

Maybe post a couple of photos of the piano.

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.

Thank you for the info. I'm in Australia, and am led to believe the piano came over from Germany/Prussia pre 1900s.

I'm 'caretaking' this piano for some ol' timers in a few weeks time and will post some pics when I get it.

Thanks again
