Thalberg
on: July 04, 2011, 01:15:27 AM
I've recently been listening to the music of Sigismond Thalberg and I really quite like it! I find that it has the bravura of Liszt and the delicacy of Chopin, it's quite beautiful. I've been learning Grande Fantaisie et Variations sur des motifs de l’Opéra Norma de Bellini (op. 12). My question is that I am wondering where to obtain (non-electronic) scores for his music? I do realise that there are quite a few on IMSLP, but is there anywhere I can buy any? Or does noone print his music anymore? Any info would be super! Cheers

Dear Astro,
I can only say that you came to the right place. Wait a bit, and Thalberg will probably answer to you in person. Or almost. 8)

Best regards,
Jay.

I have a Thalberg score ordered from Musica Obscura Edtions in the USA. However you have to bear in mind that in return for the cost plus shipping, all you're really getting is the IMSLP sheets stapled together within a yellow cover.
