I'm entering my senior year of undergraduate engineering (two more years until I graduate), and I would really like to minor in music performance. I studied piano from ages 5 to 16, and had plans to pursue it as a major, but unfortunately I didn't appreciate the piano enough when I was younger and quit playing altogether for a couple of years. Lately I've been regretting that decision to not continue with the piano, and I would like to declare a minor in music performance. I am aware that the practice will be time-consuming, but I am not too worried about the actual music classes, since I've already had a lot of background in that. I have had this planned for a few months now, and I recently purchased a digital piano for my apartment, in anticipation of having to practice more than what I am doing now.

I'm meeting with the music adviser at my school tomorrow to discuss the possibilities. I have never really done anything like this before, so I'm at a loss as to what I should expect from auditioning, actual classes, lessons, etc. Does anyone have any advice or anecdotes from their own experiences in music school?

Also (if it is of any use to anyone), my planned audition repertoire is:
  • Beethoven Pathetique Sonata Mvt. 1
  • Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 1
  • Lecuona Malaguena

Thanks in advice for any help  :)
