In my experience, nothing goes to plan:  I have planned vigorously for several different occasions, and the outcomes were mixed.  For example, I had a plan for learning certain repertoire, but things turned out differently once a plan goes through.  Another example is doing an exercise routine at a certain time of the day, but something unexpected goes on, so I have to plan to do another time.  Vice Versa, when I make an exercise routine, I have better consistency following it, and achieve the results I want.

What is your opinion?  What should we leave to the moment, and what should we plan in advance for?

I'm interested in your responses.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Prioritize and make decisions as things come up.

Yes, there's a balance.  I've got some current goals that I fully intend on keeping, but they formed almost as a result of other goals having completely fallen through.  I'm sure at some point a bit down the road, whatever is happening now will make more sense to me, but right now it's definitely a mystery.  And, even though I fully intend on keeping and following through with my current goals, I'm not sure what's going to be happening in the next couple of months ... my life may completely change, it might not.  If it does completely change and I need to make new goals, I will.  In the meantime, values seem to be getting more clear, and goals are based on what I value.
