the montagues and capulets from romeo and juliet pieces op.75!
this was the heart of a program called amantes sunt amentes which featured music about mad and ill-fated lovers, including ophelia, king lear, schumann and romeo & juliet.

Great job! you definitely have a feeling for Prokofiev and his score for R&J. Prokofiev's  use of the percusive dramatic parts in contrast with the lyrical are well played. the opening knocked me off my chair!

thanks for litening.  this is definitely one of prokofiev's most popular pieces and is thrilling in any recital context...
