paper
on: July 23, 2011, 12:07:16 PM
I have to write a paper for school/conservatory.
Any ideas? It should have a relation somehow with my instrument, the piano.
What did you guys take? Do you know any places where I can download musical papers?
I don't want to loose too much time making them...
Thanks!!

You can try searching in Music Indexes:
https://iimp.chadwyck.com/marketing/index.jsp
https://www.ebscohost.com/public/music-index
https://www.rilm.org/
Lots of good periodicals can be found here:
https://www.jstor.org/
This is good for theses and dissertations:
https://www.proquest.com/en-US/
Most of the above will require a subscription. If you are a university student you can usually obtain access through your institution. If not, try local libraries if they have subscriptions.
This is for open journals:
https://www.doaj.org/
You can always take a trip to your local university library and check the stacks for periodicals.
Don't be surprised if some of the sample papers you dig up talk about stuff that goes way over your head. Many of them are written by specialists for specialists to read. Don't let it discourage you. What you really are after is how the writer presents their thesis and defends it.

Is this your first research paper? If so you should take a look at that book I suggested in your other thread. It has answers to common research questions: such as how to get started and where to find material.

Thank you very much quantum! How comes you know so much about it? You made several musical papers as well?
It is indeed my first paper I've to make.
Any other info/examples/ideas/topics are welcome!
