Hello Franz, hello everybody,

A not too famous Scarlatti sonata ? I think, altogether, that these sonata's are not famous at all.   And a sad one ? There is a great chance, though I'm far from having listened to all Scarlati sonata's, that one out of two, if not sad, has at least a lot of introspection and melancholy in it.  You have heard of this very new album of Alexandre Tharaud who made a selection ? Gminor Kk 8 sounds a little sad to me.  And you could have a look a this link.

Starting at +/- 01:15 is a very suave interpretation of k208.   Though you could look in vain for pure, heartbreaking sadness, I must admit, there's a dominant feel of resignation in this piece.

But I think altogether that you just could listen to some records and you will definitely find some things full of passion (that often goes together with some sadness, no ?)

I wish you all the best.
