Lots of pieces to learn - Any more???
on: August 10, 2011, 07:46:22 PM
I've set myself a target to learn lots of pieces of music before the end of the year. I'm hoping that it will enable me to sight read a lot better and strengthen my playing ability. I want to know what is the best way to learn lots of pieces of music together - because my hands are getting a bit confused and muddled with everything and I end up playing the start of something Chopin and ending on Liszt!!!
So... here is my list:
Bach - Prelude and Fuge in C major
Bach - Capriccio in C minor
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
Beethoven - Fur Elise
Beethoven - Pathetique (2nd mov.)
Beethoven - Rondo in C minor
Chopin - Prelude in E minor
Chopin - Raindrop
Chopin - Nocturne in C# minor
Chopin - Nocturne in B Op 32 No.1
Chopin - Etude Chanson de l'adieu
Chopin - Nocturne Op 9-2
Chopin - Nocturne No. 1 Op 72
Chopin - Waltz Op 64 No.2
Debussy - La fille aux cheveux de lin
Debussy- Clair de Lune
Debussy- Arabesque 1
Debussy- Reverie
Eric Satie- Gymnopedie No. 1
Faure- Andante Moderato
Liszt- Conselation No.3
Liszt- Nocturne No.3 in A flat major
Ravel- Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn
I would love it if you could suggest some more pieces that I could add to my list!! It does seem a little Romantic at the moment - but I like Baroque and Classical too
Plus I have learnt quite a few of these already (like the Moonlight Sonata and the Chopin Nocturne in C# minor) so that makes my goal a little easier!
Thanks! x
