DUDE STUFF I CAN AND CANT BRING ON AN AIRPLANE!

Can I bring my pointy pencils to draw and sketch on an international flight?

Do any of you, besides having your intimate moments with the piano, fly airplanes?

Speaking of drawing, any of you like to draw? Did you posts any drawings so we can see and judge and say how much they SUXXORS?  no I'm kidding about the sucking part, but come, share, be enlightened!

i'm guessing it would be okay to bring your pencils onto a plane, as long as they don't contain explosives or anthrax

i love drawing - i thought that was going to be the main focus of my life until i started playing piano. i think i've got one or two of my drawings somewhere on the net.. might try to find them later..

i'd like to add another question here (to anyone who reads this or who will post in this thread anyway): are you left or right handed?

yeah you can sketch on the plane i did when going to europe or otherwise i'd've been bored out of my mind! for a few of my works go to my already created thread

https://www.pianoforum.net/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=nopi;action=display;num=1093434964

i'm planning on making a website of my work sometime soon when i have some freakin time so will probably post it up here to advertise myself hahaha

btw OMG jeff that's a really nice sketch! and self-portrait too i'm impressed i HATE self-portraits it's probably the most annoying thing to draw- anyone else is fine but myself hell no!

thanks tash

about your work from that thread - great!
i was just thinking about how i would approach doing the same thing.. not sure.. probably steal your ideas  ;D :P i find that i'm not that great at coming up with imaginative concepts or ways to express a certain broad idea well in visual art.. i just sort of work on a more purely visual basis - considering what specific visual effects i want

i like doing self-portraits  :D i like drawing other people on public transport too, but i always know that i won't suddenly move when i'm in the middle of drawing me

btw, are you left-handed?

I used to draw on a graphics tablet on my computer, but have since gotten too lazy to draw. I'll post something if I can dig them up!

You're coming to Australia right? How long will the flight be?
Maybe you can let them be blunt and then sharpen them on the plane, though that raises the question of whether sharpener's with their metal bits and whatnot would be allowed =|

yeah you can bring a sharpener i'm pretty sure cos i tok one on the plane! the only thing they took of mine was my scissors cos i'd forgotten to put them in my big suitcase so that was the end of my bond with my beautiful scissors! oh well i stole them from the school art room anyway hehe...

thanks jeff, i'm not left-handed generally- only when cutting and throwing things! yeah i took a great amount of time to try and find a completely original idea for that body of work since nothing is original these days so m very proud that it seemed to work out. and then a girl at my old school this year went and ripped off my whole technique with painting dancers on textured paper but went the complete opposite in concept so i am NOT HAPPY >:(

yeah i've always wanted to try draw people on buses and stuff but i don't think it's really my thing. LOVE doing life drawing though it's the best. i love it how they can manage to just sit there almost completely still for like 30 minutes!
